Directions to Seaside Surf Spot
From the North:
-
Take the I-5 SOUTH.
-
Exit Birmingham.
-
Turn RIGHT so you’re heading WEST.
-
Head up and over the hill and continue down.
-
You will arrive at a dead end. Turn LEFT on San Elijo Ave.
-
At the first stop light, turn RIGHT onto Chesterfield.
-
Continue over the railroad tracks.
-
Turn LEFT onto Old
Highway 101 and head SOUTH.
-
Continue on Old
Highway 101 through Cardiff and down the beach.
-
You will see a large
parking lot in the distance and a turn off for Seaside.
-
Turn RIGHT into the
parking lot.
From the South:
-
Take the I-5 NORTH.
-
Exit Lomas Santa Fe.
-
Turn LEFT so you are
heading WEST.
-
Continue up and over
the hill.
-
Merge into the RIGHT
lanes.
-
Turn RIGHT onto Old
Highway 101.
-
Continue through
Solana Beach and head down the hill.
-
At the bottom of the
hill, you will see a huge parking lot and beach on your
LEFT.
-
Make your FIRST LEFT
turn off into the Seaside Parking lot.
From the Inland County:
-
Take the 78 WEST.
-
Take the I-5 SOUTH.
-
Exit Birmingham.
-
Turn RIGHT so you’re heading WEST.
-
Head up and over the hill and continue down.
-
You will arrive at a dead end. Turn LEFT on San Elijo Ave.
-
At the first stop light, turn RIGHT onto Chesterfield.
-
Continue over the railroad tracks.

Turn LEFT onto Old
Highway 101 and head SOUTH.

You will see a large
parking lot in the distance and a turn off for Seaside.

Turn RIGHT into the
parking lot.
*Please note: There a lot of
different ways to reach this spot by using side roads and other highways.
It’s all a matter of preference and accessibility. I've found these to be
the easiest and least confusing of the bunch. Enjoy!
