Finding some power
The surf at Blacks Beach
is very unique to California because of it's power and
ability to create such awesome barrels. The reason the waves
have so much power is because of the extreme increase in the
shelf under water just outside of standard inclination of
the coastline. This extreme increase causes the waves to
jack up and have more power and pitch then some other surf
spots along the California coastline.

Blacks showing some size
Because of the power that
Blacks Beach provides, this surf spot should not be
attempted by beginners or even some intermediate surfers.
Blacks Beach offers a wave that requires wave knowledge and
years of surfing experience to surf correctly.
